Freshers week has turned out to be a very busy week. I started the week off by getting into the studio and putting the lights to good use with a male model, Furhaan.
I found Furhaan on Starnow, he needed some updated shots for his portfolio.
Neither of us had any ideas of what we wanted so we made it up as we went along and fooled around with bits lying around in the studio.
I really like to play with shadows so I kept the session low key.
I was pretty happy with how they turned out as it was only my second session working in a studio environment.A definate departure from the spontineity of documentary photography out in the field.
I am definitely going to get as much studio time in as I can over this next year. I really enjoyed the session.

I then spent the next day photographing the freshers fayre in the lobby of the University, there was a definate theme going on with those ice creams..
and then came the crunch, of the week, besides being introduced to our additional tutors, we had our instructions of work and boy oh boy it's a 6000 word reasearch piece.. wow!.... I can definately say that there won't be much time for photographs this year!... or will there?????....
One thing is for sure there will be time for an exhibition... (hopefully)
We went to have a look at some window space in Spindles shopping centre where we are planning to have our end of year exhibition. It's not strictly the end of year any more, but due to covid everything has had to be rearranged.
The exhibition should have been at the end of academic the year but it was cancelled due to covid so I did an exhibition online instead which you can view here . We then planned to do the exhibition at the start of the year around our graduation in October, but sadly our October graduation ceremony was also cancelled so now it will be closer to xmas time so 'hopefully' it will go ahead in November/December.
