Terms and conditions

These terms apply to all services provided by Shoots Photographs, including portrait and family sessions, life events, commercial photography, boudoir and intimate photography, fetish and kink photography, and one-to-one training. By booking a session or service, you agree to these terms.

1. Booking & Confirmation

1.1. A booking is confirmed once you have signed the booking agreement and paid the required deposit. Until both are received, your date is not secured.

1.2. A booking agreement will be provided for every session or service. This confirms the session type, date, time, location, agreed concept (where applicable), fees, and any specific terms relevant to your booking.

1.3. For boudoir, intimate, erotic, and fetish/kink sessions: the booking agreement will also include agreed boundaries, consent terms, and privacy provisions specific to your session.

2. Pricing & Payment

2.1. All prices quoted are in GBP (£) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes.

2.2. “Starting from” prices on my website are indicative. Your final quote will be confirmed in writing based on your specific requirements (session length, location, travel, concept complexity, and any extras).

2.3. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The deposit amount will be stated in your booking agreement.

2.4. The remaining balance is due as specified in your booking agreement — typically on or before the day of the session.

2.5. Payment can be made by bank transfer, or by other methods agreed in advance.

2.6. Additional images, prints, albums, wall art, and other products are charged separately and quoted at your viewing or on request.

3. Cancellation & Rescheduling

3.1. By you: If you need to reschedule, please give me as much notice as possible. I’ll do my best to find an alternative date.

• Cancellations with more than 7 days’ notice: Your deposit can be transferred to a new date within 3 months.
• Cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice: The deposit is non-refundable. If the balance has been paid, up to 50% may be refunded at my discretion depending on the circumstances.
• No-shows (no contact, no attendance): The full fee is payable.

3.2. By me: If I need to cancel or reschedule due to illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond my control, I will offer you the earliest available alternative date or a full refund including your deposit. I will not be liable for any costs you may have incurred (e.g. travel, HMUA, accommodation).

3.3. Weather: For outdoor sessions, if conditions are unsuitable, we’ll reschedule to the next available date at no extra cost.

4. The Session

4.1. I will arrive prepared, on time, and with professional equipment suitable for the agreed session.

4.2. I provide calm, guided direction throughout every shoot. You do not need to know how to pose — that’s my job.

4.3. You are welcome to bring a companion to any session for comfort. For boudoir, intimate, and fetish/kink sessions, please let me know in advance who will be present so I can prepare accordingly.

4.4. For 18+ sessions (boudoir, intimate, erotic, fetish/kink): Valid photo ID is required at the session. This is checked visually and is not photographed, copied, or stored.

4.5. You may pause or stop any session at any time, for any reason. For boudoir, intimate, and fetish/kink sessions, a safe word or signal will be agreed during consultation.

4.6. I reserve the right to end a session immediately if I feel unsafe, if agreed boundaries are violated, or if the conduct of any person present is inappropriate. In such circumstances, no refund will be issued.

5. Consent & Boundaries (Boudoir, Intimate & Fetish/Kink)

5.1. All boudoir, intimate, erotic, and fetish/kink sessions require a pre-shoot consultation. This is where we discuss your concept, your boundaries, what will and won’t happen, and any practical requirements.

5.2. Everything agreed during consultation is documented in your booking agreement. No activity beyond what is agreed will take place unless explicitly discussed and consented to during the session.

5.3. You may withdraw or adjust consent at any point during the session. This will be respected immediately, without question.

5.4. Couples sessions: All participating individuals must be part of the consultation and must each sign the booking/consent agreement independently.

5.5. Any requests for services of a sexual nature (as opposed to the professional photography services described on my website) will be declined immediately and the enquiry terminated.

6. Images — Delivery, Editing & Selection

6.1. After your session, I will edit your selected images in my signature style. Editing includes colour, contrast, exposure, and light retouching. Heavy retouching or compositing is available on request at additional cost.

6.2. Turnaround is typically 2–3 weeks for portraits and boudoir sessions, and may be longer for events depending on coverage. An estimated delivery date will be provided at booking.

6.3. Images are delivered via secure online gallery or other agreed method.

6.4. The number of final edited images included in your package is specified in your booking agreement. Additional images from the session are available to purchase.

6.5. I do not provide unedited or RAW files.

7. Image Use & Copyright

7.1. Copyright: Under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, I (Sharmaine Entwistle / Shoots Photographs) retain copyright of all images I create. This applies to all session types.

7.2. Your licence: You receive a personal-use licence to print, share, and display your images for non-commercial purposes (e.g. personal social media, gifts, home display). This licence is included in your fee.

7.3. Commercial use: If you wish to use your images for commercial purposes (advertising, products, business promotion, publications), a separate commercial licence is required. Please ask for details.

7.4. My use of your images: I will never use your images for portfolio, marketing, social media, website, competition entries, or any other purpose without your separate, specific, written consent (model release).

7.5. For boudoir, intimate, and fetish/kink images, the default is complete confidentiality — no use whatsoever unless you actively choose to grant permission via a separate model release.

7.6. You may withdraw model release consent at any time by notifying me in writing. I will remove the images from my active channels within 14 days, though I cannot control third-party shares that may have occurred prior to withdrawal.

7.7. Credit: Where images are shared publicly (with your consent), I appreciate a credit or tag (@shootsphotographs / Shoots Photographs) but this is not mandatory for personal use.

7.8. AI and digital manipulation: Your images will not be submitted to AI training datasets, used for AI-generated content, or digitally manipulated beyond agreed editing without your explicit consent.

8. Privacy & Confidentiality

8.1. Your personal information and images are handled in accordance with my Privacy Policy.

8.2. For all session types, your booking and attendance are treated as confidential. I will not confirm or deny that any individual has booked or attended a session.

8.3. For boudoir, intimate, and fetish/kink sessions, enhanced confidentiality applies as detailed in the Privacy Policy and your booking agreement.

9. Training & Mentoring

9.1. Training sessions are bring-your-own equipment. I teach on your camera, flash, and software so that what you learn transfers directly. I do not provide equipment for lessons.

9.2. Training is sold as individual sessions or blocks as quoted. Missed sessions within a block cannot be refunded but can be rescheduled with reasonable notice.

9.3. Student downloads and PDFs are for personal learning use only and may not be redistributed, resold, or shared.

9.4. Under-18s: An accompanying adult is required for all training sessions with clients under 18.

10. Gift Vouchers

10.1. Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated.

10.2. Vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferable for cash.

10.3. If the service booked exceeds the voucher value, the balance is payable by the recipient. If the voucher exceeds the service value, the remaining balance can be used for additional images or products.

11. Liability

11.1. I carry public liability insurance for my photography work.

11.2. I will take all reasonable care during sessions but cannot be held liable for accidents, injuries, or damage to personal property that are not caused by my negligence.

11.3. In the unlikely event of equipment failure or data loss, my liability is limited to offering a re-shoot at the earliest available date or a full refund of fees paid. I am not liable for consequential losses (e.g. venue costs, travel, HMUA, emotional distress).

11.4. For events (weddings, funerals, etc.), while I take every precaution to safeguard images, I strongly recommend that guests also take photographs as a backup.

12. Complaints

12.1. If you’re unhappy with any aspect of my service, please contact me directly at Sharmaine@shootsphotographs.co.uk. I take all feedback seriously and will work to resolve any issue fairly and promptly.

13. Governing Law

13.1. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
